The Curse of Willow Falls

This concept movie poster was created for a school assignment that required the use of original photography. I chose the Willow River Falls near my home as the subject as they provide a powerful image that balances both beauty and chaos. The image was edited to have an ominous appearance with the dark and cold water that you can almost hear as you look deeper into the image past the text on the surface. The placement of the text in the foreground ties into the the mystery that lies beneath the poster itself, and can only be satisfied by viewing the actual film (which unfortunately doesn’t exist). A Sans Serif font was chosen for its clean contrast with the loud texture of the rushing water and rough stone. The corrosive black tar looming overhead reinforces the foreboding presence of something toxic and evil. This element was taken from an image of old shingle tar on a rusty putty knife.
